From the Fun Run Committee:  “The Candlewood Isle Fun Run is back!  This year's run will take place Sunday, August 28.  Registration opens at 8 a.m. Races begin at 8:30 a.m., and continental breakfast will be served at 10 a.m.  For those who have never attended the Fun Run of years past, the concept is simple: Create a team, put your sneakers on and come run in a relay race.  Each member of the team will run one loop with a baton and hand off to the next team member.  The fastest team wins.  The age groups for the run are as follows: 6 and under (shortest run), 7-10’s (shorter run), 11-15’s (short run) and 16+ (5-mile-run total; each person does 1 mile approximately, the distance is from the Clubhouse to the Post Office and back).  For teams 11 and up, you must have one walker on your team.  In other words, at least one of your team members will have to walk their leg of the race.  Please create teams of 5 people and select a team captain.  Register your team via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The cost for the race and breakfast will be $10.  That translates into $5 entry fee for the race and $5 for breakfast (4 and under will eat free).  We encourage everyone on the Isle to come and cheer on the runners and then join us for breakfast.  You don't have to race to be part of the fun!  You can also just be a runner if that's what works for you.
The deadline to enter is Monday, August 22nd.  Team captain should drop off team's entire payment with Veronica Rubio at 61 Lake Drive North - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to coordinate drop -ff.  Non -runners may also drop off payment prior to the deadline.  The money confirms your attendance and allows the Fun Run Committee to plan the race and breakfast accordingly.  We look forward to your participation.
